MANDATORY Parent & Student Meetings Scheduled

The band has grown to a size that requires expectations to be more formally laid out. Therefore, each band family will receive a copy of the 2017-2018 Member Handbook on the first day of band, August 14th.  Parents and students are expected to attend one of the two MANDATORY handbook meetings that day.  Meetings will be held at 12pm and at 3pm in the bandroom and shouldn't last more than 15 minutes.  Please read through the handbook with your family then sign and return the last page at the next rehearsal.  Please understand there are several circumstances addressed that haven't occurred, such as discipline problems, but it is best to have the policy in place before it is needed. Please do not hesitate to contact Christy with any questions or concerns that arise.  We are thankful for our band family and look forward to another great school year!

As H.I.S. Band continues to grow, so does the need for behind the scenes help and financial provision.  We continue to be amazed at what God provides both with the love offerings taken up at concerts and the recent vision of a parent-led booster organization.  Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and anyone else who is excited about what God is doing to grow the next generation of musicians serving Him are joining together to help keep things moving in HIS direction.

This group will  help organize the fundraising opportunities that will provide H.I.S. Band with the financial provision needed to purchase music, educational posters for the band room, much-needed (expensive) bass and percussion instruments that will balance the group's sound, and other needed items.

In addition to helping raise funds, this group will also take some of the weekly burdens off of the directors so they can better focus on teaching.  Some of these responsibilities include recording practice log times, using band funds to purchase and distribute prizes throughout the semester, helping register returning students, along with other errands and things that arise each week.

The old saying, "Many hands make light work" holds true here.  Please consider joining!!

For more information on how you can help, please email Michele McCoy at nza20035@yahoo.com

We are thankful to the Lord for the blessings He continues to pour out

on HIS group and we also pray blessings on everyone

whom he has used to bless this band.  Many thanks!
